Blog Spamming

Just a qucik note to break my vacation from work. I noticed ten new comments, all of which were spam advertising prescription medications, and decided to take this time to post a warning:

This site does not accept posts that are nothing more than bogus attempts to sell goods. There may be some ads in the future, but they will be selected by myself.

I've deleted the offending spam, but any further blog spam will result in me tracking down the site and adverstiser and filing formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commision. Spammers, you have been warned.

You have an intesting site here. Akin to something that I once had aspirations of putting together. I'm a horrible jerk, I know, but I just have to comment that scanning your site for a just few moments reveals a multitude of spelling errors. This isn't a trivial complaint, or harrasment. I don't agree with all that you do, but i appreciate what you're doing. I just think that your message would be stronger if you spent a little more time proofreading. Thank you.

Check out MT-Blacklist, a free plugin for MT designed to block blog spamming. You'll have to upgrade to the latest version of MT, but once you do, installation and configuration of mt-blacklist is pretty easy. It's at http://www.jayallen.org/projects/mt-blacklist/
