November 11th is traditionally the day Americans are supposed to stop and honor those who have given their lives in defnese of our liberties. Today that included the annual Presidential wreath-laying, in what has to be one of the most cynical acts of George W. Bush this year. Despite continued cuts in military benefits of all sorts including combat pay and death benefits, despite refusing to attend a single funeral service for a soldier killed in Iraq, despite the hundreds of Guardsmen and Reservists who are denied treatment for combat wounds while living in appalling conditions at Ft. Stewart and else on military hold, this President claims to support the military.
The military are finally realizing that supporting a spoiled pilot who went AWOL during his generation's war is not a better supporter than the President cheap-labor conservatives on the right called a "draft dodger".
Please do your part to support or military today. Go to parades and write letters to the troops. Write your Congressemen and Senators to oppose the cuts in military benefits and question why the President has not attended any funerals. Ask them why there is no clearly defined plan or objective for Iraw. Ask them for an investigation of the situation and Haliburton contracts.
We owe it to the troops to resolve all of these issues and prevent more unnecessary deaths,
